South Delhi is divided into three sub divisions i.e Defence Colony, Hauz Khas, Kalkaji nearly with the population of 2,258,367 according to 2001 census. This area of Delhi considered to be very classy, which have most amazing market places, restaurants and monuments. Some architectural wonders are also in this area, like Qutub Minar, Humayun Tomb, Safdarjung Tomb, and Purana Qila. In terms of tourism some more places are there which make this area more famous, like The Lotus Temple, Chattarpur Temple, Lodhi Gardens, and Kalindi Kunj. All foreign embassies in India are in Chanakya Puri, which is also a part of this area.
Areas like Vasant Kunj, Greater Kailash, Safdarjung, Lajpat Nagar and Mehrauli are also in South Delhi. These are the area of Delhi which hold both commercial as well as residential value. Nehru place where you can get all kinds of printing job done is also a part of this area. Universities and educational institutes like IIT Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, South Campus, National Institute of Fashion Technology are also in South Delhi.
Delhi-Dhaula Kuan are the major intersection of roads which lies in South West Delhi. It is where the five major throughfares meet. South West Delhi also comprises, Dwarka, One of the largest residential areas of Asia.
