Delhi's markets are crammed with goods, people and smells. Although it seems as if a billion malls
have cropped up around Delhi in the last several years, markets continue to thrive as regulars shop
at the places where their parents and grand parents have shopped. The markets offer everything
from household goods, daily staples and the trinkets that tourists and locals can't seem to get
enough off.
Among the famous bazaars Connaught Place is the all time favourite fun spot for teenagers. The
hanging out hub Delhi for teens is undoubtedly the CP as it is better known. Here one can see
teenagers buying leather goods, funky t-shirts, stylish slippers, electronics gadgets at much cheaper
rates. Built in 1932, it is the commercial hub of the city. Most shops in this tourist mecca are open 7
days a week. The markets and shops are structured on an inner and outer ring and are
distinguished by blocks A to F in the inner ring and F to P in the outer ring.
Framed by Janpath's famous stalls, everything from knick-knacks to restaurants, jewellery and
handicrafts can be found here.
Janpath Market is worth a visit here as one can see lots of variety of
trendy clothes that teenagers crave for and that too by bargaining with a difference of almost half
the cost! After shedding down the weight of their pockets teenagers just love to relax at the Nehru
Park or relax their tastebuds at Nirula’s point.
As if this were not enough, the underground Palika Bazaar is also located here. Exciting! Its the
grandfather of all things from grey market with about 400 stores selling cheap electronic stuff and
clothing. Even a day is less in this grand shopping arena, hopping from one corner to another. Grab
a pizza at Dominoes and back to shopping. Because of the convenience of the metro, now
Connaught Place has become all the more easy for teenagers to approach. A majority of shops
remain closed on Sundays but some remain open for the inevitable foot traffic.
