Getting There Delhi

Delhi is well connected to other cities of the country by road, rail and airways. It’s very convenient for travelers from other countries to get here by flights. There are continuous flights to and fro Delhi. The Indira Gandhi International Airport –IGI has both domestic and international terminals. It has nearly all major international flights operating from here. The passengers can travel between the domestic and international terminals by the free shuttle service of the IGI airport. The airport also has services from where you can make flight enquiries and book tickets sitting at home. The Palam Domestic Airport also connects Delhi to the major cities of India.

You can take a prepaid taxi from the airport. With a number of railway stations that connect the city to other cities, the major stations are the Old Delhi station, New Delhi station and Nizamuddin Station. If your train is scheduled at either of these stations, then make sure you leave much earlier to win through the traffic congestion to reach on time. Prepaid taxi service is available at all three stations. Foreign tourists and NRIs can contact the International Tourists Bereau at New Delhi Railway Station for any assistance in reservations, planning itenarary.

A road to trip to Delhi can also be comfortable as a network of highways and roads takes you there. The two interstate Bus Terminals- ISBT Kashmere Gate and ISBT Sarai Kale Khan Terminus have a tourist info office, a pharmacy, post office, snack bars in terminals and prepaid cabs and rickshaws just outside the entrance. Stop and see different towns on the way with reasonable stay options. With the fastest growing network, a taxi can be hired for long distance travels, from anywhere in India.
