Ambala Cantonment is a cantonment town in Ambala district in Indian State Haryana. Ambala Cantt.
serves as Ambala's headquarter and sub area of Ambala and is located next to Ambala and is on the
Grand Trunk Road. It situated some 200 kilometres north of Delhi and 50 kilometres south from
Chandigarh.It is a major market for scientific products for school and colleges. Ambala Cantt. was
established in the year 1843.
Ambala Cantt is prominent centre for Surgical instruments.The Cantonment is established during
British times and it is an important junction because from here roads are connected to Chandigarh,
Shimla, Uttar Pradesh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar And Amritsar- Lahore.It consists many colonial
Bungalows and wide tree lined roads typical of British Cantonments in the subcontinent. Presently, it is
the Headquarters of II Corps (India), and an significant forward Indian Air Force base.
