In Srinagar a large number of Cafes and Restaurants. Lal Chowk is located in banks of the Dal
Lake he is a very famous for cafes and Restaurants. Kashmiri food is diverse than others dishes of
country regarding the preparation, type and eating manner. Rice is the staple dish along
with the meat dishes. Curd is used in gravies that give delicious taste. Food is cooked in
mustard oil and water with the use of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and saffron
and dry fruits such as Mutton, Chicken and fish is the meat dishes.
Wazwan:
It is the feast where the group of four persons share the meal from one dish.
The meal consists of mainly meat dishes. A large serving dish constitutes of rice, garnished
by four seekh kababs, four pieces of meth maaz, two tabak maaz, sides of barbecued ribs,
one safed kokur, one zafrani kokur, along with other dishes, and Yoghurt, salads, kashmiri
pickles and dips.
Sheermal and Tsochvoru:
It is the bread that is rare and only found in Srinagar. It is eaten in the breakfast.
Another type of bread is tsochvoru is covered in sesame seeds and covered in a salt tea.
Dum Aloo:
It includes potatoes that are pre-roasted in gravy and cottage cheese.
Chaman:
Paneer (cottage cheese), fried and cooked in thick gravy.
Rista:
Balls made of minced meat, cooked in gravy.
Seekh kababs:
Chicken or mutton marinated in spices and grilled on skewers.
