Historical Elysee Palace and Moorish Mosque Kapurthala
Elysee Palace: Elysee palace was built by Kanwar Bikrama Singh in the year 1862. This is a mag building. converted
into MGN school.
The Moorish Mosque- A National Monument:
Moorish Mosque presents a spectacular view. It was built as a replica of Grand Mosque of Marakesh in
Morocco. Moorish Mosque was built by famous French architect Monsieur M Manteaux in the reign of
Maharaja Jagjit Singh. It got completed in 13th years of time from 1917 to 1930.
The Mosque was later sanctified in the presence of Nawab of Bhawalpur. The inner dome designed by
the artists of Mayo School of Art, Lahore. It is also recognized as National Monuments by
Archaeological Survey of India.
