Bhubaneswar is also called an education hub of eastern India because in the city there are many famous government, private, engineering and management colleges. Utkal University is one of the oldest universities which was established in the year of 1939. In the city there are 267 affiliated general colleges, 6 medical pharmacy colleges and 15 law colleges. Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology was established in the year of 1962 which was the second oldest Agriculture University of the Country. Nursing Colleges: - It includes The Hitech College of Nursing, Sum Nursing College, Manjari Devi College of Nursing, Capital Academy of Nursing, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences etc.
Medical Colleges: - It includes All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Neelachal Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Eastern Institutes of Science and Technology etc.
