Tourist Places in Alabama

Alabama is encircled with numerous tourist places that attract tourists from all over the country and outside too. Here are the few most visited tourist destination across the state.

Church of the Highlands: It is the beautiful church in the Birmingham city of Alabama State. This is the Non-denominational, Christian church got construct on February 4, 2001 by Pastor Chris Hodges and a core group of 34 people. Church of the Highlands is the largest church in the state visited by approximatley18000 people every Sunday.

Birmingham Zoo: It is zoological park falls in the city of Birmingham, Alabama. The zoo was publically opened on April 2, 1955, and is abode of almost 800 animals of 200 different species. It also houses endangered species of six continents. Birmingham Zoo is supported by Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Gulf State Park: As the name suggests, Gulf State park is the state park located in gulf shore of Alabama. The park is visited by thousands of visitors across the country. It is among the biggest state park spread over an area of 6,150 acres, including white sand beaches. It is considered the best place for adventure lovers as it offers swimming, trailing, fishing and such other adventurous activities.

Mcwane Science Center: It is the science museum located in Birmingham houses historic department store building of Loveman, a departmental store chain in Alabama. The museum was opened on July 11, 1998 and remains open on Monday to Saturday 9:00 am- 5:00 pm, and on Sunday 12pm to 6pm.

Point Mallad Park: Point Mallad is Public Park spread over an area of 500 acres. City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Board operates this park since its establishment in 1970. The major attraction of this park is its Aquatic center. Apart from this, the park also owns swimming pool and other recreation centers.

Waterville Alabam: It is a water park built to provide better amusement facility in the region as it offers various water games, rides and recreation centers. It is located on the gulf shore of Mexico, occupies approximately 30 acres of land. It was opened in 1986 and has arrangement of all water amusement for every age of group.

Splash Adventure: It is another water park in the state occupies 81 hectares of land, opened on May 23, 1998 offering various water games and rides.

Huntsville Botanical Garden: Huntsville Botanical Garden is one of the most famou places for tourists in Alabama. It covers an area of 112 acres, and its major attritions are Nature center, butterfly house, Nature Trail, Biblical garden, Daylily Garden, Herb and Vegetable Garden. It remains open during the winter season.
