Gwalior festivals are the reflection of the cultural heritage of the region. People celebrated the festivals with vigor and enthusiasm. Apart from celebration of Diwali and the Holi, there are other fairs and the festivals that give the unique identity to this royal city.
Tansen Festival:
It is celebrated to commensurate the achievements of matchless music legend Tansen. It is organized near the tomb of Tansen which is lasted for five days. From every parts of the country, classical singers participate in this festival.
Bhavbhuti Samaroh:
Bhavbhuti Samaroh is one of the oldest festival marked by the enactments of dramas and the episodes from the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. This is the cultural festival of the region. Famous dramas of Kalidas are also staged.
Baba Hira Bhumia's Fair:
It is organized in Baba Hira Bhumias temple. It is celebrated in Bhadon falls in August or September. Thousands of devotees gather at the location to overcome from the physical sufferings.
Krishna Rao Shankar Pandit Samaroh:
It is the festival of music concerts, dance and folk songs. This festival provide platform to the artist to show their skills in music and dance. Classical music concert is the main attraction of the festival.
