Art and Culture:- Cuttack is also called as the cultural capital. There are so many festivals are celebrated in the District like Durga Puja, Boita Bandana, Bali Jatra, Kali puja Kartikeshwar Puja and other regular Indian festivals like Ratha Yatra, Raja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Vasant Panchami, Id, Good Friday, Chhath, Christmas, Holi and Diwali festivals are also celebrated here. Apart from the religious temples the city has Fabulous Structure named Gurdwara Daatan Sahib. The city has also several churches.
Cuttack is also known as the Silver City because of its fine workmanship in silver. This is the art of the city and silver filigree work is also one of the major sources of income in this city. This Cuttack and Bhubaneswar are known as the twin cities of Orissa. It is widely known as the Silver City because of its expertise in silver, textiles of woven silk and cotton ivory and brass works.
Food:- The food of the Cuttack is different from other regions. Odia cuisines ordinary uses less oil and less masala in the dishes. In old times Food was traditionally served on plates which were made of sal leaves.
The ingredients used in this city like jackfruit and papaya, Coconut is also used in several dishes. Ordinary Ghee is relatively used in Temples for making the Recipes. Jagannath Temple is also known for the “Maha Prasad” and known for 56 recipes which are called “Chappan Bhogha”.
