BY RAIL
The railway station at Visakhapatnam is under the control of East Coast Railway of Indian Railways. It falls on the
Chennai Central – Howrah Station mainline though these tracks do not pass through the Central Station. Therefore,
a suburban station near Vizag Steel Plant known as Duvvada station. The city is connected to Vijayawada Junction,
Secunderabad Railway Station, Bhopal Junction, Gwalior, Chennai Central, Howrah Station, New Delhi Railway
Station etc. through rail.
BY SEA
Vizag or Vishakhapatnam is a port city on the South East Coast of the India. Vishakhapatnam is the
gateway waterway for Andhra Pradesh. The city is home to several state-owned heavy industries and
a steel plant; it is one of India's largest seaports and has the India's oldest Shipyard. It is also known
as the Fishing Industry port because it is one of the largest fishing port in India. Vishakhapatnam also
shows its result in ship building because the first Indian Ship Name 'Jala Usha' was made here.
Vishakhapatnam is a major area of shipbuilding industry in India.
BY ROAD
Vishakhapatnam is one of the major cities on the east coast of India connected by NH5. The section
of NH5 from Kolkata to Chennai connects Vishakhapatnam on the northeast and the south. The
highway is an important route for transporting cargo and people from these cities via
Vishakhapatnam. The city has a broad network of roads. There are frequent buses to Chennai,
Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bangalore and Mumbai.
