Fairs And Festivals Visakhapatnam

Vishakhapatnam is the land of festival's because people of different religions stays together that's why it is also known as the land of festival's. There is a festival named Visakha Utsav, this festival is celebrated continuous for three days. It is celebrated in the third week of January from friday to sunday. This festival represent the culture, folk dance, cultural activities, music of the region. By all this, it is platform from where future plans are carried out for the development of economic growth and infrastructure of the city.

The Rishikonda a Beach Festival which is organized on the beaches of Vishakhapatnam from 22nd to 25th December. This festival is similar to a fair which consist of different types of Exhibition Stalls, and Food Courts for food lovers and to explore creativity there are Craft Bazaars where every kind of art can be checked out. With all this, a Book Fair is also organized for the Book lover's in the month of November and December.

A religious festival is also celebrated named Chandanotsavam or Chandana Yatra is a festival Celebrated. This festival is celebrated in the temple of Sri Varaha Lakshminarasimha, in Simhachalam. The temple is used to covered with sandalwood paste. The festival is celebrated to remove the sandalwood paste ceremonially and again is covered by the fresh layer of Sandalwood.

This festival is celebrated in the month March-April. The Festival Lumbini marks the importance of Buddhism as a religion to the state of Andhra Pradesh. The three day long Festival normally involves remembering the teachings of Gautam Buddha in various forms and activities. The festival is observed on one of the weekends lasting for three days in the month of December.
