Auto celebration is the popular celebration, celebrated at Kanthimathi Nellaiappar temple which is at a distance of 2kms from the Thirunelveli railroad station. Likewise it is also known an 'Aani celebration', this celebration falls in the middle time of June-July, is commended for 10 days with awesome wonder and cheer.
The celebration start with the banner raising and on the ninth day a terrific parade with the symbols of Swamy Nellaiappar and Gandhimathi Ambal is done. This chariot with the icons are pulled by the devotes through the each of the four auto streets roads around the temple. The chariot utilized for the parade is the third biggest auto in Tamil Nadu and is 450 ton in weight, 28 feet in width, 28 feet long with an aggregate tallness of 35 feet.
