Location: Mussoorie is located some 290km north of New Delhi, capital of India. And Geographically, Mussoorie is
located on 30.45 degree N 78.08 degree E.

Language: Garhwali is the local language of the area. English and Hindi are also two dominant languages in this
hill station.
Climate: The weather in Mussoorie is generally bright and clear, except during the three months from June to
August because the monsoon pours down on the hill station, causing landslides and even cutting off road links with
Dehradun when mists envelope the mountain slopes and paints the sky in the mauvish, glow and the woods around
turn greener. Summer temperatures range between 29°C - 7°C. Winter temperatures can dip to 1°C. The summer
rush remains from April to July. The evergreen forests around Mussoorie break out in bloom in September, and
remain till November, making it a good time to visit
Population: As of 2001 India census, Mussoorie had a population of 26,069. Males constitute 56% of the
population and females 44%. In Mussoorie, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Literacy rate: Mussoorie has an average literacy rate of 86%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male
literacy is 88%, and female literacy is 84%.
