Goa was ruled by many dynasties like Chutus, Bhojas, Abhiras, Vijaynagar, and Delhi sultanat. Meanwhile many preachers of Jainism and Buddhism Spread their religion. The landing of Vasco D gama was the landmark in it’s history in fifteenth centurary. After that Goa was annexed to Portuguese empire by defeating the ruling Bijapur kings in 1510 AD.
It was under Portuguese empire till 1961 when India succeded to merge it in her states after a war of possession. After the annexation, it was considered Union Territory of India. On 30 May 1987, the Union Territory was split, and Goa was made India's twenty fifth state.
