Bathinda also gains historical importance. It has been the witness of splendor of many ruling dynasties which are left in the form of architecture now.
Damdama Sahib:
It is the place which was visited by Guru Teg Bahadur, the father of Guru Gobind Singh. It is also called the headquarters of Nihangs. There are ten Gurudwaras and three tanks such as Nanksar Sarover, Akalsar Saroveer and Gurusar Sarover. These tanks are associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The colorful Baishaki festival is celebrated here with great show and pomp.
Zoological garden:
It is the place offers picnic spot and a mini zoo as well which is located at 10 km away from the Cantonment.
Chetak Park:
It is the beautiful garden with the wide range of flowers. A beautiful lake with boating facility allures visitors.
Qila Mubarak:
This fort is 1900 years old and is the National Monument of India. The bricks of this fort are the remains of Kushana period. This monument has witnessed many historical and great personalities such as Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Tegh Bahadur . The first lady emperor India was imprisoned in this fort in 1240 AD.
Rose Garden:
One of the famous tourist destinations in Bathinda is known for its beautiful varieties of roses. It is spread in 10 acres of area.
Bahia Fort:
Once it was the official residence of armed forces of Maharja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala State. Now, it has been converted into a four-star hotel. It was built in 1930 which was built in front of main fort.
Lakhi Jungle:
Falls on the way to Muktsar, it is 15 km away from Bathinda. This is the forest has an old Gurudwara and the reminiscent of Guru Nanak Dev JI who recited here one lakh Holy Paths of Shri Japuji Sahib. That’s why it is called Lakhi Jungle. This place is also supposed to be visited by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
