SABARMATI RIVER: Sabarmati is one of the biggest rivers of north Gujarat. It originates from
Dhebar lake of rajasthan and meets with an Arabian sea. The river nourishes and fulfills a major part of
water requirement in the Ahmedabad city .
KANKARIA LAKE: It is a multisided lake that was built by Sultan Qutab-ud-Din in the year 1451
A.D. It is basically an artificial lake with thirty four sides. The lake attracts good bird life and hence a
popular spot for bird watching.
“Kamla Nehru hill garden and zoological park” is just near to this lake which is known for its albino
animals. It has a huge number of birds, mammals and reptiles.
CHANDOLA LAKE: It is a one of the water reservoir of city, Ahmedabad. Lake's water is used for
irrigation and other industrial purposes. There is a tomb of Shah Alam near the lake that is also
a tourist destination.
