SABARMATI ASHRAM: The energy of the non-violent struggle of Mahatma Gandhi can still be felt
in the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad. It is a must visit place for all the tourists. It has been a witness of
the movement led by Gandhi ji.Satyagraha Ashram was established on the banks of the Sabarmati in
1917, after the previous Kochrab Ashram had to be abandoned because of a breakout of plague. The
beautiful ashram complex with its shady trees offers a refuge from the loud streets of the city.
Ashram has a museum inside it. For Gandhiji, It was a human laboratory where the he could test his
moral and spiritual hypotheses. The Ashram at Sabarmati holds letters and other possessions and
collection of photographs of his struggle for the freedom of India.
TEEN DARWAZA: Teen Darwaza is one of the oldest gateway built by Sultan Ahmed Shah. It is a
best example of Islamic architecture. It has semi circular windows decorated with stone work. Five
palm trees that are covered with snakes are beautifully shown on it that attracts not only local tourists
but from also from the city across.
BHADRA FORT:
It was built by Sultan Ahmad Shah in 1411 A.D. It was named
after diety Bhadrakali whose temple is also present inside the fort. Many events organize every year at
Bhadra fort on the occasion of Republic Day .
