Master of Taxation in University of Waterloo
1) Students from a wide variety of backgrounds are welcome.
2) Successful completion of a four-year Honours Degree, or equivalent, with at least a B (75%) average is required.
3) Two letters of reference, at least one being an academic reference
4) Resume, detailing your previous work experience
5) A one page statement detailing your interest in the Master of Taxation program
6) Applicants will be assessed by an admissions committee. Applicants who are lacking the necessary fundamentals of Canadian income taxation and accounting to begin work in the tax field will be required to successfully complete TAX 600, a 3-week course covering these areas. An interview may also be required
7) Students whose first language is not English may be required to provide proof of competency in English. For those taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a score of at least 600 (250 on the computerized version), with a score of 5 in the Test of Written English (TWE).
