1) Students wishing to acquire a graduate degree with a Specialization in Gerontology must be admitted to the graduate program in one of the collaborating academic units - Education, Kinesiology, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work or Sociology. Once a student has been accepted as a graduate student in one of these academic units, the application will be reviewed for approval by the Gerontology Graduate Committee. Preference will be given to students who have a major or minor in Gerontology, have taken undergraduate courses in gerontology or with gerontology content, or have relevant work or volunteer experience dealing with issues of aging.
2) Students normally apply for acceptance to the Collaborative Program with Specialization in Gerontology at the same time as they apply for admission to the graduate program of the collaborating academic unit.
