Students need to have an undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 and a strong command of one of the available languages. Applicants whose first language is not English must either pass an English test at a satisfactory level (see English Entry Requirements below) or complete a Translation and Interpreting Preparatory Program (TIPP) taught in the Centre for Macquarie English (CME) at Macquarie University. Applicants whose first language is English may be admitted on the basis of undergraduate transcripts or recognised standard exams.

Bachelor degree with GPA of 2.5; and strong command of one of the available languages; and at least two years relevant professional language teaching experience in an accredited teaching institution or postgraduate diploma in applied linguistics (TESOL) with a GPA of 3.0.

Master of Translating and Interpreting with the degree of Master of International Relations in Macquarie University
A Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognized university in a relevant area with results at credit level(minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0), and an excellent knowledge of two languages. Applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS of 7.0 (see English Language Requirements).
