.....Continuing reading University of Kalyani. The campus is at a main location, adjacent to the University entrance gate. The keystone of the SKAIL campus was laid by Hon’ble Shri Jyoti Basu, ex- Chief Minister of West Bengal on 30th day of June, 2004.
At Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law–SKAIL the teaching method is extremely modern, multi-dimensional and flexible. Students have the opportunity to experience different teaching methods, including the traditional class room lectures, interactive methods like case studies, problem solving, Socratic methods, and experiential methods like simulations, role playing and participation in real client clinics. Moot Court exercise is one of the most important aspects of legal education at SKAIL.
The Moot Courts are held with the main aim of inculcating court culture among the students. Moot Courts help the students in gaining the needed confidence in argumentative ability which is a significant aspect of oral advocacy. Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law-SKAIL has institutional provisions with Techno India Group, which is an important organization in eastern India for giving technical education, for imparting computer education to students.
The Library of Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law-SKAIL is well equipped, well managed and professionally run library that was developed within a span of only one and half years. The Institute’s Library also subscribes to a many law journals. In addition to having institutional membership with the British Council Library, Kolkata, SKAIL has started for the same membership with the Indian Law Institute Library, New Delhi. SKAIL has a language lab with highly developed audio visual services and latest computer software.
Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law-SKAIL has gives various awards to give due appreciation to students’ endeavors in different academic fields. The awardees are chosen on the basis of the recommendations of the Faculty Committee and are felicitated and awarded on the SKAIL Day which is on 30th day of June.
The B.ALL.B (Hons) degree is of 5-year duration which is based on completion of tea semesters and is envisaged as a residential course. To make up for tiring travels to the college and consequent time constraint on the part of a student, 24-hour stay on campus ensures a healthy atmosphere favorable for academic pursuit, exposure to knowledge world through access to books & various journals at the library, continuous faculty guidance, interaction and prolonged hours for cultivation of extramural activities.
