BA Philosophy in University of East Anglia
Full-Time: 3 Years
Part-Time
There are no specific subjects that are required in order to take up Philosophy, and it is not necessary to have studied any Philosophy before. We are keen to see some arts or humanities subjects that involve academic work, including writing essays and reading texts. Good results in Mathematics, Music or Latin are also an indicator for doing well in Philosophy - because of the kind of rigour which they instill.

1) Candidates will be expected to have 3 A levels (see below for typical offer). Please note: We do not accept A level General Studies as one of these.
2) For students without A level Mathematics, we offer a modified version of the "Introductory Mathematics for Economists" module in the first semester of Year 1. There is a special non A level teaching track enabling students to start from a very basic level and learn the complete range of mathematical skills that are required later in the degree.
