Bhim Rao Ambedkar College began with a mere enrolment for three courses and today the college is offering 11 courses which are backed up by the experienced and devoted faculty members. Emphasis is laid not only on theoretical knowledge, but also its practical application to the fast changing global scenario. Such a holistic approach coordinates well with the current needs of the society as well as the corporate and the business world so as to make education more effective and meaningful. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College has achieved both in academics and sports and has enabled the college to be amongst the best in Delhi University Colleges.
An institution remains incomplete without the support of a well-stocked and updated library. Scientific research requires a library along with its laboratories, while for humanistic research; the library is both, a library and laboratory combined in one. Dedicated to offer excellent education, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College has an independent two storied library wing which has sufficiently spaced stacks, a good reading area and houses about 20,000 books. In addition to this, the library has current and previous issues of national and international journals.
Bhim Rao Ambedkar College has a very energetic and active Students' Council. This council is elected by the students of the college through common franchise as per the guidelines provided by the Honorable Supreme Court of India regarding Model Code of Conduct for DUSU elections. The elections are generally held during the month of August-September every year. There are four posts in the Council- President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary- is reserved for female student. All office bearers hold office till 30 April of the ongoing session in normal courses, provided they do not suffer from any disqualification during the term of the office.
Bhim Rao Ambedkar College is known to be the pioneer in starting many professional courses like Business Economics, Social Work, Hindi Journalism and Mass Communication. Recently the college has started B.A. (Hons.) Applied Psychology, renovated the Auditorium and has added a new Computer Lab. Apart from the Common Placement Cell, each department that provides professional degrees has their own placement division to perfect the recruitment procedure as per their curriculum and requirements. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College is located in the NCR Industrial Belt of the region namely Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon respectively which is an advantage since it can tap potential recruiters. The college has seen recruiters such as Bank of America, Capital IQ, E-value serve, RNCOS, Money Bag, Quest Services, Genpact to name a few.
