Army Institute of Management-AIM was founded on 28 July 1997 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi, to provide modern Management course for the kids of Army personnel with an opportunity for the general candidates too. The environmental friendly campus is spread across nine acres of land at Alipore, in the heart of the City of Joy.

As the MBA course is offered at Army Institute of Management, the college is fully residential and accommodation for all students in different residential blocks is spread over the campus where all the related facilities are provided. The independent air-conditioned library has a collection of more than 7400 books, reputed national and international journals on management and related disciplines. Like any other library, it also has value-added facilities like reference, article abstracting, indexing and current awareness. The library is fully computerized with internet accessibility.
Army Institute of Management-AIM is an institutional member of various libraries like British Council Library, Kolkata and The American Library, Kolkata. There are air-conditioned Lecture Halls with all the recent teaching aids, i.e. Computer, LCD Projector, OHP, sound system etc and also a 100% well furnished hostel for both Boys & Girls. There are different common rooms for Boys & Girls. Facilities for Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis is also provided. In addition, there are two well equipped multi gyms for Boys & Girls.
Army Institute of Management-AIM provides two-year full-time MBA course that leads to a post graduation degree in MBA. The total strength of the students for the course is 120. The course stresses on an integrated understanding of theory and practice. Industrial Internship is also compulsory for the students as acts as an essential part of the MBA Curriculum. Every student is required to go through eight weeks of Industrial internship at the end of first year program.
Army Institute of Management-AIM organizes campus interviews for its students. National as well as Regional Corporate Recruiters come to the college during placement season. Since its beginning, AIM has met the expectations of the Industry by placing nine batches of MBA students in different fields across the country in like in the areas of Marketing, HR & Finance.
