This Institute of Physiotherapy opened its doors to the first batch of students in the year of 1999. The objective of the Institute was to serve health-care needs of the community through education and training of Physiotherapy practitioners.
Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy - AJIPT also encourages extracurricular activities. Each year, in the beginning of the academic year, the institute celebrates its Annual Convocation Day in which prizes and certificates of annual events such as sports, cultural and quiz are distributed. Other events like Zenith -The fresher’s party is organized which is a high energy fun filled day for students.
A Team building trip which comprises of adventure sports and team building activities, Ripples- the Sports and Cultural week and Brain teaser are also organized. The Physiotherapy Quiz creates a year round excitement and a feeling of togetherness amongst the college students. Different indoor and outdoor games like chess, table tennis, carom, cricket, tug of war, kho-kho, throw ball, badminton etc along with various cultural events like singing , dancing, miming, rangoli etc are also held. Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy - AJIPT offers undergraduate course of B.Sc. (Hons) Physical Therapy or Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T). The courses are spread over a period of four and a half years and they also include internships for six months.
The Placement Unit at Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy - AJIPT has regular interactions with IBM, FICCI, CII, NTPC, PepsiCo, Andhra education Society and many other organizations. Several students with different abilities were selected by Barista Coffee, I.B.M. This process has enhanced the confidence of the students resulting in visible changes in their personality. The Pepsi Co. has put up a kiosk for employment of students with disability at the institute as a pilot project.
Self-employment has come up like a beacon light and big hopes for the students with disability for their economic rehabilitation. There is great flexibility in the working conditions for students who opt for self-employment. Also, the rising demand for Physiotherapists concentrating in sports has led to the evolution of this course and with major international sports events in the coming years it is also the need of the hour in the country.....Reading in short
