State Bank of Mysore was established by Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah on 19th of May 1913 as ‘Bank of Mysore Limited’ and commenced the operations on 2nd of October 1913. The headquarters of the bank is situated at Bangalore. The bank was appointed as Agent of RBI (Reserve Bank of India) to operate the Govt. treasury operations and business. On 10th of September 1959, under the State Bank of India Act, 1959, through Act of Parliament, the bank was constituted as a division of State Bank of India and renamed as State Bank of Mysore. The two regional rural banks are sponsored by State Bank of Mysore these are, Cauvery Grameena Bank and Kalpatharu Gameena Bank. State Bank of Mysore is a member of SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Inter Bank Financial Telecommunication). State Bank of Mysore’s share is listed in the stock exchange of Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.
