Sony is a famous brand of electronic goods and communication products. Sony is a brand of Sony Corporation which was founded in year of 1946. Sony Corporation is part of Sony Group. Firstly in year 1955 the number of sold radios is approximately 1,00,000 units but in 1968 it reached to 5 million units. Founder of the company Akio Morita began Sony Corporation of America in year 1960. He encouraged Japanese employees to join the Sony for making the employees' careers bright. He also inspired the other Japanese Companies for it. In 1975 the Sony invented the Betamax video cassette recording format. Sony became very popular from this in 1980s. In 1985 Sony makes handycams with video8 format and in 1987 it launched Digital Audio Tape(DAT). In year 1979 it promote its new brand named Walkman. It had launched in the form of world's first portable music player. It also invented the Mini Disc format in the year of 1992. It also launched its digital cameras with latest technology. In 1996 it introduced a digital camera with name of Cyber Shot. It also launched a wide range of mobile phones. Sony also offers various other products which has played a important role in its success. It has made a music playing robot with name Rolly, a humanoid robot with name QRIO and a robot like dog with name AIBO. Sony's business in spread worldwide. Sony Semiconductor Corporation has 7 plants in Japna and its subsidiaries in Brazil, China, England, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Ireland and United States.
