KTM is a popular brand of sports bikes. It is a brand of and Austrian company named KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG. KTM is well known for sports motorcycles. Company was established in the year of 1934. In beginning an engineer named Johann Hans Trunkenpolz started a shop of metal working in Mattighofen. This shop was known with the name of 'Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen'. KTM started the manufacturing of bike in year 1953. A man Ernst Kronreif launched a bike named R100 in the year 1954. That time the company had just 20 employees.

In the time period of 1980s KTM had 180 employees which made their company's annual turnover of €3.5 million. Due to some minor issues company was split into four parts in year 1992. It splits into KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH, KTM Fahrrad GmbH, KTM Kühler GmbH and KTM Werkzeugbau GmbH. After some time in year 2004 name of the company KTM Sport motorcycle GmbH was changed into KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG. KTM started work in partnership with ATV manufacturer Polaris Industries in year 2005. Company began exporting of its products in year 1968 to USA by American company KTM America Inc. Bajaj company who is a joint venture company of KTM had launched 125cc and 200cc bikes in Europe and in the year 2012 it launched a bike in India named Duke 200. KTM became specialist of sports and racing bikes. Its bikes are most demanded for racing games.
