Located at the banks of the river Satluj, Ludhiana is known as the Industrial Hub of Punjab. City was
founded by Lodhi dynasty. Sikandar Lodhi deputed Yusaf khan and Nihang Khan to take the charge of
this region earlier known as Mir Hota. Nihang Khan established this city at the site of village Mir
Hota. City got its present name Ludhiana on the name of Lodhi dynasty as the place was under the
great influence of them.
This vivacious city has turned out to be a ‘Polluted box’ from a colorful banquet of different cultures.
Ludhiana is a major industrial center of India. It is not only the Manchester of Punjab but also of the
India. The industrial products and hosiery manufactured in Ludhiana are not only used with in India but
they are also exported to different regions of the world. It is big manufacturer of cycles but still
pollution from all other vehicles is taken out by Ludhiana.
