Siliguri is the most beautiful city, also the major commercial city of the North Bengal, which is spread across the Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling districts in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is situated in the foothills of Himalayas and banks of the Mahananda River. Siliguri is also the 2nd biggest city in West Bengal and basically known as the gateway of North-Eastern India.
Look behind only a century prior, Siliguri was only a little town with the all the more little populace. Farming was the main occupation of the dwellers of then Siliguri. After the segment of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan in 1947 and the making of Bangladesh in 1971, the city of Siliguri turned into a crowded refugee center.
