LOCATION: Panipat, lying in the east central part of Haryana State is located between 29deg
09’15”:29 deg 27’ 25” north latitudes and 76deg 38’ 30” : 77deg 09’ 15”
eastlongitudes.
AREA The area covered by the Panipat is 1268 sq.km. Out of which 30 sq.km. is forest
area.
POPULATION: The total population of the Panipat according to 2011 census is 1,202,811. The
population density of district is 19,000/km2 (49,000/sq mi)
LITERACY RATE: The total literacy rate in Panipat is 81.75%.
SEX RATIO: The Sex ratio in Panipat is 861 females for every 1000 males.
CLIMATE:
Panipat are very dry and hot in summer. Panipat has hot and humid climate. In summer, the
temperature goes up to 44 degree celcius especially march, april and may. Panipat are very cold and dry
in winters. In winter the temperature is around 4 degree celcius, especially in end December and
beginning January and best time to visit the Panipat. And the annual rainfall is 680 mm which is spread
over 31 rainy days.
