Panchkula is a well planned city of Haryana. It is surrounded by Himachal Pradesh in the north and north east by Ambala district in the east by Kurukshetra district in the south and Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh in the West. In panchkula district there are five towns Pinjore, Kalka, Barwala, Morni and Raipur Rani. In this city there is only one hill station Morni. Panchkula has been developed in the recent years, and has regained large tracks of deep forest regions that are still home to a variety of birds and animals.
In Panchkula city there is a prestigious Chandimandir Cantonment Headquarters of the Indian Army Western Command is there. The presence of Panchkula Cantonment has given eco-conservation a leverage to retain the natural unspoilt look. Well maintained parks, lush green foilage and lakes attract the tourist to come here. Panchkula also shares the same importance as Chandigarh in terms of commercial development as well as ecological beauty.
