Muzaffarnagar is situated at 29°28′N 77°41′E / 29.47°N 77.68°E. It consists of an average elevation of 232 meters. It is covered by the two holy rivers i.e., the Ganges and the Yamuna from east and west. It has a typical north Indian city climate which is severe hot in summers and cold during winters. The weather ranges from 22-40°C during summers while it remains between 12-33°C in winters.
