Jabalpur sometimes known as Jubbulpore, is one of the prime cities in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The name of the city is the combines of Arabic word Jabal means rock and pur mean city. It is situated on the Varanasi-Nagpur NH-7. The city is well known for their architectural heritage, national parks and many historical structures such as Madan Mohan Fort, Chausat Yogini Temple, and Rani Durgawati Memorial. Due to all these great monuments, Jabalpur is also called “City of Rocks”. Jabalpur is the administrative headquarters of the Jabalpur district and second most crowded district in Madhya Pradesh. Jabalpur is one of the selected 7th smart cities to be developed as smart cities under the PM Narendra Modi’s flagship Smart Cities Mission.
