Gorakhpur is the city situated in the Uttar Pradesh along the banks of the Rapti River. In the name of famous Hindu yogi Gorakhnath, this city is named as Gorakhpur. The city is also known as the city of “great shaayars” due to the belongingness of renowned shyaars. It is the home city of Gorakhnath Math (Gorakshanath temple) the eminent monastery. In the region of the Uttar Pradesh, the major area is covered by this district which touches the outskirts of Nepal border. Also, it is the headquarter city of the district.
