Bijnor is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated in the corner of the North West part of Moradabad district. The river Ganges washed off its western part while it is surrounded by the hilly region of Uttrakhand in the north. In the east Philka river separates it from
NainiTal and Moradabad while the south direction makes this city the neighbor of Thakurdwara, Amroha, and Hasanpur tehsils of Moradabad.
It is situated in western most part of the state. Bijnor is historical city with some traces of mythology from the Mahabharata and Ramayana as well. From Timurs invasion in 1399 to British annexation in 1858 AD, this city has witnessed many historical events. Known as Rohillakhand or Bareilly region in past, Bijnor constitutes of 5 tehsils, 11 Blocks and over 3000 villages.
