of Allahabad. Allahabad is situated on the confluence of Ganga and Yamuna. It is located 205 kilometers (127
mile) south of state capital Lucknow. The famous Kumbh Mela is held here every 12 years. Apart from the
Religious aspects, the architecture adds to its glory. Allahabad has been the witness of flourishing Mughal Arts.
The Mughal Fort built by Akbar is one of fine examples. Khusrau Bagh the tomb of Prince Khusrau is magnificent in
itself. To seek much in the historical aspect, there is Allahabad Museum which has 18 galleries exhibiting wide
range of stones and sculptures of many ages.
Being the birth place of Nehruji there are many buildings associated to him. Anand Bhavan is one of them, which
was the ancestral home of the Nehru family and is now turned into a Museum. Swaraj Bhavan was donated to the
nation by Moti Lal Nehru to be used as the headquarters for the Congress Committee. Buildings such as all Saints
Cathedral, Allahabad University, Allahabad High Court add excellence to the city architecture.
