Dhuri is a small town in Sangrur district of Punjab. It comes under Patiala division. It is situated at a
distance of 14 km from Sangrur, 126 km from Chandigarh and 267 km from Delhi. It has an average
height of 774 feet.
In Punjab it is regarded as the 'fast developing town' because of the existence of many industries
which provides daily need commodities like sugar, plastic , rice etc. The oldest industries are the
Sugar mill started by Thapar Group of industries and Bhagwanpura sugar mills. There are many other
industries like KRBL Limited -producers of the India Gate brand of basmati rice, Shri Ram Agro
Chemicals which produces fertilizers and AP Solvex a maker of Ricela brand of rice bran oil.
