Essilor is an ophthalmic lenses provider company in India. It was established in the year of 1849 as a name of 'L’ Association Fraternelle Des Ouvriers Lunetiers. The headquarters of the company is located at Charenton Le Pont France. The company offers wide range of crizal hard multicoated lenses, varilux progressive lenses, and Titus hard coated lenses to its worldwide customers. Essilor entered in the Indian market as SRF Limited in 1998. In the year of 2004 the company changed its name as Essilor India Private Limited. Essilor is world’s largest ophthalmic equipment manufacturer company. The company was listed on the stock exchange in the year of 1975. In 1980-1989 company bought the new plants in Thailand, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The brand also offers the lens resistance against scratches, smudges and reflections. The company also has partnerships with an American Company which offers Transitions photochromic lens. In the year of 2014, Essilor won the Vision X VP Awards.
