Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Chief Justice of India
A tempest of general opinion is gathering against the way in which a Bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi summons on 20 April and suo motu heard a case including sexual behavior claims leveled against him by a previous Supreme Court worker. The Bench was assembled at short notice after online news portals distributed charges leveled by a lady against the CJI. The conference started a public discussion on whether the CJI was sitting as a "judge in his own cause" and whether the Bench ought to have followed the standards of natural justice by giving the complainant a reasonable opportunity to be heard in any case before passing comments about her. The claims of the ex-worker must be managed according to the method built up by law. The law must be connected in every single case consistently, SCAORA (Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association) resolved. The affiliation said it firmly opposes the way in which the objection was managed. It urged for a request and action into the lady's complaint. She has effectively kept in touch with 22 Supreme Court judges, specifying her allegations against the CJI. The representatives' affiliation said the claims were intended to malign the foundation. The affiliation said it stood solidly with the CJI to rout the malignant endeavor of outer powers to focus on the Indian judiciary.
