Ranjan Gogoi Nominative Next Chief Justice of India
As per to the law minister of India, Justice Ranjan Gogoi will be the next Chief Justice of India. On 13 September 2018, Ranjan Gogoi appointed as the 46th Chief Justice of India by President Ram Nath Kovind. Justice Ranjan Gogoi will succeed Chief Justice Dipak Misra who will quit office on 2 October 2018. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who is mainly known for his “no-nonsense” approach will have the next Chief Justice of India. It will have a short tenure of 13 months and 15 days, which will Justice Gogoi controls. Ranjan Gogoi would retire on 17 November 2019. Ranjan Gogoi was born on 18 November 1954. In 1978, he was enlisted as an advocate. He rehearsed in the Gauhati high court on constitutional, tax collection and organization matters. In the time of 28 February 2001, he was designated as a stable judge of the Gauhati high court. On September 9, 2010, he was relocated to the Punjab and Haryana high court. He was named as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana high court on 12 February 12, and afterward a judge of the Supreme Court on April 23, 2012. According to the report, Ranjan Gogoi will take the pledge for his position as "Chief Justice on India" on 3 October 2018.
