Overlooked twice for World Cup, Ambati Rayudu announces retirement from international cricket
Ambati Rayudu reported his retirement from international cricket, in the wake of being passed over regardless of two Indian players continuing injuries at the World Cup. Rayudu was recorded in the reserves for the Indian cricket team preceding the World Cup. The middle-order batsman has not expressed the explanation behind his retirement yet. He has likewise said that he won't play in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and is available to play in other T20 leagues abroad. Rayudu was excluded in India's original 15-part squad for the World Cup 2019 and all-rounder Vijay Shankar was taken over him. Major selector MSK Prasad had expressed that Shankar's 3-dimensional characteristics made them pick him over Rayudu, who wasn't excessively happy with the choice. Interestingly, Rayudu's choice to declare retirement came the only multi-day after Iceland Cricket offered him perpetual residency in their nation with the goal that he can play for them after Mayank Agarwal was brought in as Vijay Shankar's substitution.
