Karnataka State Department of Agriculture is abbreviated as KSDA which is a government organization, handles all works regarding to the agriculture of the state. The seed of establishing this agriculture department was sown during the 18th Century by releasing the Agriculture Development Progammes. In order to complete the needs of the agriculture and farmers, journey started with producing sugarcane which were brought from Mauritius while developed in the Karnataka. The Agriculture movements were developed by Maharaja of Mysore while the Agriculture and Horticultue Society was founded by Sir Mark Cubbon in 1836. The establishment of the Agriculture Department was held with the mission to enhance the agriculture products as well as the income level, education level, research challenges and improve the agriculture.
The Department of Agriculture Karnataka delivers the latest technical knowledge, varieties of crops with the instructions, extension services and training related to agriculture production to enhance the agriculture skills. For the purpose, to complete the queries of the farmers, the Raita Samparka Kendras are released where all the agricultural operation has done like crop production, soil production, seed testing etc. Additionally, it offers the chemicals for plant protection and bio-fertilizers. As well as the organic farming is another important scheme for the well production. This scheme is useful in production by using the Farm Mechanization that includes the five components which supplies the newly designed agricultural implements and Hi-tech Agriculture implements.
