AAU stands for (The Amateur Athletic Union) was founded in the year of 21 January 1888 by William Buckingham Curtis. It is an amateur sports based organization situated in the Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States. AAU is a multi-sport organization, which dedicated to the development and promotion of health fitness programs and amateur sports. AAU works on the slogans of “Sports for All Forever”. AAU has represented the numerous worldwide sports alliances. It has become throughout the years to become one of the major and most influential affiliations. After the games demonstration of 1978 AAU has centered its endeavors in to giving games projects to all members of any age starting at the grass roots level. The main mission of the AAC is to provide the sports programs for all people to have the mental, physical, moral development, good citizenship and great sportsmanship. Amateur athletes and volunteers opportunities develop the highest level in the volunteer through local and national network of sporting events.

AAU offers various programs such as AAU Junior Olympic Gamer, AAU Sports programs, AAU Complete Athlete Program and AAU James E Sullivan Memorial Award. Likewise, the President’s Challenge program is directed for the benefit of the President’s Council on physical fitness and sports. The AAU has 33 national councils to organize its activities in particular games.
