King and Queen Loves and Lives in Agra

The city of Agra is where the Mughals chose to live, love, build and rule on a giant scale. What elevated those kings was their grace, refinement, love of nature and devotion to the arts. One can only wander through gardens and forts to experience this. Established by the Mughal Emperor Akhbar, in 1556, the city became a centre of culture and scholarship. Today its hard to imagine Agra as a vibrant cultural centre with a legacy of many centuries. If you live in Delhi, then the Taj Mahal is in your backyard- over-visited , the grandeur and beauty of one of the Seven Wonders of the World diminished by over familiarity. It's where you've taken scores of your cousins, NRI relatives and friends from outside India. In your college years, perhaps you too drove down to see Taj Mahal , an on-the spot plan, after a particularly delirious party, just because it was there and you could. Agra's chaos and never ending hordes of aggressive hawkers and guides, its appaling traffic jams and eternal heat and dust will extract that last reserve of your tolerance. So one should ideally have three days to explore those attractions here. Agra is a railroad junctions, and a commercial and industrial centre for the surrounding agricultural area. The city is celebrated as the site of several outstanding examples of Indo Saracenic architecture.A trip to India is incomplete without a visit to the the architectural abundant  town.
