The diverse courses available at Riverina Institute are from entry level through to Advanced Diploma in faculty areas. It has many jewels to its crown in the academic arena. Their courses include Arts and Media, Community Services, Health and Welfare, Business, Information and Communication Technology, Transport, Engineering and Construction, Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, Wine and Food with strong coverage in 21 apprenticeship trade training areas. Riverina Institute is focused on building specialist capacity and in doing so has established specialty centers which work in partnership with industry to provide specific industry centric training. The training is twofold, non- accredited and accredited. The former delivers Principles of cultural heritage management, Legislation, Management planning and many other such subjects. Accredited courses include Conservation & Land Management, Forest and Forest Product Industry and SIT07 - Certificate I in Tourism.
The institute has established specialty centers across the region where it works closely with community leaders and industry partners. Acting as a security shield, it ensures programs that are current and relevant to people seeking professional and paraprofessional careers. For this, the center provides Forest Industry Training Centre, Centre for Emergency Services Management Training, Centre for Inland Engineering, National Aerospace Training Centre of Excellence, Riverina Wine and Food Technology Centre, Centre of Innovative Training in Sport and Recreation, National Environment Centre and Primary Industries Centre.
Riverina Institute major campuses under operation are at Albury, Cootamundra, Corowa, Dareton, Deniliquin, Finley, Griffith, Lake Cargelligo, Leeton, Narrandera, Temora, Tumut, Wagga Wagga, West Wyalong and Young Campus. Albury is located on the New South Wales/Victorian border and is one of Australia’s fastest growing business, cultural and residential regions. TAFE NSW Riverina Institute’s Albury Campus has been part of the community since 1899. Keeping up with the pace of time the curriculum of the university is also upgraded with training in Business, Community Services, Health and Welfare, Fine Arts and Design, Hair and Beauty and Information and Communication Technology. Students from Albury campus receive national and international recognition, enjoy state of the art facilities, dedicated and professional staff and a stimulating and welcoming environment. The two special campus facilities provided are Child care centers located at Albury, Narrandera and Wagga Wagga and hairdressing and beauty salons located at Griffith, Albury and Wagga Wagga Campuses. Accommodations, bookshops and library are also available at Riverina Institute - Wagga Wagga Campus. The commitment to aligning with industry needs is achieved through the teaching staff’s close working relationships with industry partners and clients and one in five Riverina Institute students are able to gain their qualifications in the workplace. The institute employed 1,444 staff that includes 1,069 teachers, 242 full-time teachers and 735 as part-time casuals. 375 staff members were employed in support positions, administration or management.
