Delhi College of Engineering - DCE was under the direct control of Ministry of Education, Government of India. B.Sc. Engineering course of 5 years duration was started in Electronics & Communication Engineering. All the departments offered M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. In

Engineering courses in Instrumentation and Control, and Advanced Electronics; the Department of Mechanical Engineering introduced M.Sc. Engineering courses in Thermal, and Production, the Department of Civil Engineering introduced M.Sc. Engineering courses in Structure, Hydraulics & Flood Control, and Public Health Engineering. Electrical Engineering Department started M.Sc. in Power Systems in the year 1977.
The keystone of New Campus of Delhi College of Engineering - DCE, under the principal ship of Late Prof. M.L. Mandal, was laid by the then Hon’ble Vice President Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma on May 23, 1989. Delhi College of Engineering - DCE was run from the Kashmiri gate campus in the heart of Old Delhi until 1989, when construction began at the New Campus at Bawana Road in May. The new campus is well linked by road and has the latest facilities including a high-tech library system, a centralized computer center, a sports complex, eight boys' hostels, three girls' hostels, and a married couples' hostel. The campus also has residential facilities for its staff and faculty members.

Delhi College of Engineering - DCE has 9 Boys and 3 Girls hostels in the campus that can provide accommodation to around 1100 boys and 250 girls. The various Boy’s hostels are: Bhaskaracharya Hostel, Sir C. V. Raman Hostel, Sir I.C. Bose Hostel, Varahmihir Hostel, Sir Visversvaraya Hostel, Vivekanand Hostel, Subhas Chandra Bose Hostel, Chandra Shekhar Azad hostel, P.G Hostel and Girls hostels are : Sister Nivediata Hostel, Type V Girls hostel, P.G Girls hostels.
The library at Delhi College of Engineering holds a prominent place among the students and faculty. Placed in a three storied centrally air-conditioned Building that is spread over an area of 5000 square meters, it is a central place for academic and research activities.
Delhi College of Engineering - DCE offers different courses like Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy. Apart from core engineering courses in computer science, electronics and communication, information technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and civil engineering. A bachelor of engineering degree is also offered by the College in Production and Industrial Engineering, biotechnology, environmental engineering, polymer science and chemical engineering. Courses in nanotechnology, optical communications, and software engineering are also offered.
Delhi College of Engineering - DCE has a student portal DCETECH.COM which was once ranked as the best student forum in the Asia. Students from all educational institution can register and join Dcetech. The placement cell lays high importance on its industrial training. Practical Training for B.E. Students is an integral part of the program and in-built into the programs of study.
