Overview: Auckland University of Technology is situated in the populous culturally diverse city of Auckland in New Zealand. Not only that, it has a record of the highest graduate employment rate in New Zealand. Also, the city of Auckland is touted to be one of the top five places for its vibrant and forward thinking lifestyle and work culture.
Study Center: The main campus of Auckland University of Technology is located in the Central Business District on the Wellesley Street. The Institute has three secondary campuses – Manukau, North Shore and The Millenium Institute of Sports and Health. The primary campus of this Institute offers courses in business and law, applied humanities, creative technologies and design and Maori Development. It has a four floored library complete with reading materials, ebooks, journals and ejournals. The campus also provides brilliant facilities like a world class gymnasium, cafes, restaurants and bars and is close to the city park.
The North Shore Campus of Auckland University of Technology offers courses like health care practices, psychosocial studies, sports and recreation and rehabilitation and occupational studies. It is a school of education with five publicly open health clinics, a preschool center, a gymnasium and cafes and restaurants. You can even take shuttle buses from here to visit the other Auckland Campuses. The campus is directly connected to the Akoranga Station.
The Manukau Campus of Auckland University of Technology is an excellent research center and stresses on providing the best teaching-learning facilities. It provides the following courses- business, health sciences and education, computers and information management sciences and sports management and sciences. Located in the heart of Manukau, the campus is complete with student lunges, study spaces and facilities like gymnasium, a computer lab, sports facilities, cafes and bars. Shuttle buses are also available.
Auckland University of Technology Millenium Campus, home to national sport organizations like Swimming New Zealand and New Zealand Water Polo, provides the best sport facilities all over the city. Four foundation clubs exist here namely the North Sport Olympic Weightlifting, North Shore Swimming, North Harbour Bays Athletics and North Harbour Water Polo. There is a grand lodge that provides accommodation for athletes. The campus is packed with high performance centers like sports halls and athlete training zones.
Hostel: Hostel accommodation is provided at the main city and the North Shore campuses. At the main campus, you can choose to stay for just a semester( six months) or longer as required. The hostel comprises of fully furnished apartments with five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen complete with a fridge, microwave and utensils and a living room (TV, two couches, coffee table and chairs, phone/internet connectivity). Apartments for physically handicapped students are also available. A non refundable fee of 155$ is charged. The North Shore campus has similar amenities. They encourage a smoke free policy in the whole campus area.
Infrastructure: The Institute provides world class sports and training facilities with amenities like gymnasiums and indoor stadiums, an art gallery, places to hangout like restaurants and cafes and excellent classroom amenities.
